Over three decades ago, Dr. Tran Nguyen Thy Binh overcame countless challenges to pursue her lifelong dream: bringing a U.S.-standard education to Vietnamese youth. From the very first foundations laid in the 1990s, APU American International Schools was officially established in Ho Chi Minh City in 2003, before expanding its presence to Da Nang City in 2015.

Beyond K-12 education, APU Educational Development Group further elevated higher education in Vietnam by founding the American University in Vietnam - AUV, a university that fully embodies the values and academic standards of the United States.

Over more than thirty years of building and development, APU has grown into one of Vietnam’s most reputable, sustainable, and influential international education systems, opening pathways to global knowledge for thousands of Vietnamese students.

Building on the pioneering legacy of APU American International School in Ho Chi Minh City, APU expanded in 2004 with the establishment of the APU Early Childhood & Elementary School. Its mission is to create a modern, U.S.–standard learning environment for students in their earliest years.

Guided by the consistent educational philosophy “Your Pathway to The Best World Education” APU provides students with a strong foundation in thinking skills, language development, and academic capability. This comprehensive preparation empowers them to confidently transition to higher levels of education and pursue future opportunities at renowned universities in the United States and around the world.

After establishing its reputation and earning strong trust from parents in Ho Chi Minh City, APU American International School expanded its educational presence to Da Nang in 2015. This strategic move aimed to provide a world-class academic environment and create exceptional learning opportunities for an increasing number of Vietnamese students.

THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN VIETNAM - AUV

The year 2015 was also a milestone for the APU Educational Development Group, marked by the grand inauguration of the American University in Vietnam - AUV with an investment of 150 million USD. AUV is the first American university in Vietnam, recognized for its highly qualified educators and experienced administrators. It plays a pivotal role in elevating U.S.-style education in Vietnam, offering advanced training models and U.S.-standard programs for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees to students from Vietnam and around the world.

BILINGUAL PROGRAM

To meet diverse learning needs as well as the individual conditions and aspirations of each student, APU American International School introduced the Bilingual Program in Da Nang starting in the 2020–2021 academic year. This program harmoniously integrates Vietnamese and U.S. education, creating a flexible learning environment that allows students to develop their thinking and talents according to international standards while preserving their Vietnamese cultural identity.
This model provides access to a U.S.-style education at a more affordable cost while maintaining APU’s high-quality standards, opening doors for students to pursue higher education at prestigious universities around the world.

THE AMERICAN EDUCATION VILLAGE

In addition to educating a generation of outstanding students, APU has laid the foundation for a humanistic educational philosophy-one where knowledge goes hand in hand with social responsibility. The American Education Village project in the Southern Key Economic Region is a comprehensive educational ecosystem spanning from secondary school to postgraduate studies, focusing on key fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Semiconductor Technology, Healthcare, Business, and Multimedia Communication, among others.
