AP & CBP Course

AP & CBP Course

APU American International School is authorized to teach Advanced Placement (AP) courses by the College Board. Advanced Placement (AP) is an American program that provides college curriculum and exams for high school. U.S. colleges and universities rely on AP results to consider admissions and accept credit for students who score well on exams. Typically, AP courses are for 11th and 12th graders, or in some cases for 10th graders with strong academic and academic abilities.

The AP curriculum for each of the different subjects is created by the College Board by a panel of college-level experts and educators in that field of study. Taking the AP exam can help students save time, money, and stand out when applying to American universities.

Popular courses among our students include sciences, mathematics, language, literature, arts and computer science.

AP courses are more demanding than regular high school classes, most being similar to first-year college courses. The courses are academically rigorous, offering challenging work and a taste of what college classes are like, so students are prepared for the university workload and develop college-level academic skills. Students learn essential time management and study skills needed for university and career success. AP classes on their transcripts show universities that students have experience with the academic rigor of college classes, which strengthens students' college applications.

AP exams are graded on a scale from 1-5, and many universities consider ‘3’ (Qualified) as a successful demonstration of understanding equivalent to passing a college-level course in the subject. Students who plan and succeed in a broad range of AP courses are eligible for the AP International Diploma and other awards. Thousands of universities grant advanced placement or credit hours for successful students.
