NGUYEN CHAU NGOC: APU HCMC CLASS OF 2025 SALUTATORIAN & HER BRILLIANT JOURNEY TO NEARLY 12 BILLION VND IN SCHOLARSHIPS
With impressive academic achievements and a radiant, energetic smile, Nguyen Chau Ngoc (Janet) has left a remarkable impression on the APU community. After years of relentless effort, Ngoc proudly became one of eight talented Salutatorians for the APU American International Schools, Class of 2025. She exceptionally secured scholarships totaling up to $444,400 (equivalent to nearly 12 billion VND) from a host of top-tier, prestigious American universities, including Arizona State University, American University in Vietnam, Central Michigan University, Florida Institute of Technology, University of Kansas City, and Wentworth Institute of Technology...
Ngoc's journey at APU wasn't just about academic accomplishments; it was also filled with countless wonderful memories forged in a modern and joyful educational environment:
“It has been five years. Five years of memories at APU are wonderful. I have participated in the Science Fair, Tet Holiday, Halloween, and many other activities on my campus. And APU leaves me with a feeling of missing it, a feeling that makes me want to stay here."
In the poignant moment of bidding farewell to APU and her dear friends to embark on a new academic journey, Chau Ngoc couldn't help but share an emotional goodbye:
"But time flies, and I have to move on and continue my educational career. However, APU will stay in my heart, and I will remember it for the rest of my life."
During her heartfelt graduation speech titled “A Journey of Growth and Gratitude”, Ngoc shared how APU shaped her not only as a student but also as a person:
“When I first walked through the gates of this school, I was unsure of who I was or who I wanted to become... The beginning was far from easy. In the first two weeks, I struggled deeply—I could not communicate with either my classmates or my teachers... Honestly, there were moments when I just wanted to leave everything behind and return to my hometown... But APU did not give up on me—and more importantly, it did not let me give up on myself.”
She credited one of APU’s most respected teachers, Mr. Chamira, for helping shift her mindset during those early, challenging days.
“He once told me something I have never forgotten: ‘If you want to study from your friends who are better than you, then you should continue with this class. But if you want others who are worse than you to study from you, then you can simply change your class.’ That sentence reminded me that growth comes from challenge.”
Ngoc also expressed her deep gratitude to Dr. Thy Binh – Founder and Superintendent of the APU American International Schools, who has always dedicated her heart and vision to empowering students:
“Dr. Binh has stood by us through every challenge with unwavering support and a firm belief in each student’s potential. Her trust in us created a powerful impact, and I am deeply thankful for that.”
We wish Ngoc continued brilliant achievements and cherished friendships at her dream university, a leading institution in the world!
