Recently, Ho Hoang Duy - one of the excellent alumni of the American International School APU was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit for PhD Student majoring in Computer Science at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where Duy is completing his doctoral thesis and teaching. This achievement is like a milestone extending the successes and titles that Duy has achieved during his impressive work and study:

• Graduated valedictorian at APU American International School in 2014
• Received a full scholarship at the University of Missouri-Kansas City majoring in Computer Science
• Excellently graduated from University with a score of 3.91/4.0
• Received DISA (Dean's International Scholar Award) from UMKC
• First prize in UMKC's Hack-A-Roo programming contest in 2019
• First prize in UMKC's Hack-A-Roo programming contest in 2020
• Member of the UMKC Student Council
• Received the Latin title “Summa Cum Laude” and “UMKC’s Honors Graduate” at UMKC

Born in a family where both brother and sister are valedictorian, runner-up at APU (brother Ho Hoang Phuc graduated valedictorian in 2013 and sister Ho Hoang Phuong Uyen graduated as valedictorian in 2020), Ho Hoang Duy also had an extremely impressive study process at APU and excellently graduated as valedictorian in 2014. Having a passion for computer science from a very early age, Hoang Duy chose for himself the path to become Student majoring in Computer Science and currently Duy is completing his PhD in Artificial Intelligence as well as teaching at UMKC University.

In order to receive an Excellent degree for PhD students majoring in Computer Science, besides passion, Duy always seeks out new ways of learning, new directions for his research work, since then. maximize their potential. This achievement for Duy is a worthy result after a long process of skills training as well as self-study, this self-study habit has been formed by Duy very early when implementing projects at APU.

Having achieved proud successes, Duy did not forget to express his deep gratitude to the teaching staff at APU and especially to Dr. Tran Nguyen Thy Binh who supported and led Duy from the very beginning. Besides, Duy also emphasized that studying at APU has given Duy the knowledge and confidence to help Duy achieve the results he is today: "The luckiest thing for Duy at APU is that Duy can be Early access to American education, studying with native teachers helped Duy overcome all obstacles and easily integrate into the study abroad environment. APU has helped Duy discover his own capabilities, giving Duy confidence and confidence in his own abilities.”
