Alumni Success Story
APU OPENS DOORS TO AMERICA’S PRESTIGOUS UNIVERSITIES - ANGEL HUA NHA VAN, A CLASS OF 2023 SALUTATORIAN, IS HONORED TO RECEIVE $468,000 OF SCHOLARSHIPS VALUE
More than 5,000 APU graduates have come to the US to study and achieve success; each carries a story and a dream. Similar to the APU alumni, Hua Nha Van-Angel also cherished her dream of pursuing a US education from a young age. Unfortunately, while she was studying in the US, the pandemic struck, and she decided to return to Vietnam. After much deliberation, Angel and her family chose APU as the place to continue her dream. Since APU is an international school that teaches in the American standard program with a transferable credit system between the two countries, Angel can relive her dream of returning to the US to pursue university or higher education without any obstacles.
Good news came to Angel sooner than expected as she consecutively received multiple admission letters from esteemed universities in the US, including a few of the top-ranking schools in the UC system, such as the University of California, Davis, and the University of California, Merced, and two UC schools that awarded scholarships, including the University of California, Riverside, with a $45,000 scholarship, and the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a $30,000 scholarship, despite the fact that Angel has not officially graduated.
On May 20, at the graduation ceremony of Class 2023, Angel grabbed the attention of everyone and received a lot of admiration when she became one of the five excellent salutatorians of APU HCM with outstanding academic achievements. With near perfect scores, Angel continued to lengthen her scholarship list when she received scholarships from Arizona State University (ASU), $70,000; American University in Vietnam (AUV), $36,000; Central Michigan University (CMU), $57,600; Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), $80,000; University of Kansas City (UMKC), $72,000; and Wentworth Institute of Technology, $77,440, bringing the total value of her scholarships to nearly half a million dollars.
Perhaps no words can describe the joy, happiness, and pride of Angel and her family. The doors to the US’s universities are once again wide open to welcome Angel, and APU wishes her to accomplish more greatness as she makes the journey to conquer education in the land of opportunity. APU is extremely proud of her.
